Supernanny casting...they're looking for adoptive families

I believe I have posted before about my love for the Supernanny show. Not only do I feel better about my own family when I see those out-of-control children, but I also think that Supernanny Jo gives real, solid parenting advice. Plus she looks fabulous in her purple suit. If I get a job I may have to get myself one.

I found out earlier today that Supernanny is having a casting call - and they are looking for an adoptive family to profile!

May be cool, or may be awful. It'll depend a lot on how they portray the adoptive family.

Their press release says this:

ABC’s hit show SUPERNANNY is currently looking for adoptive families with kids (toddlers to teens) to take part in its popular television series.

Families with children who were adopted have issues like every family, but they also struggle with challenges particular to adoptive families. We would like to give ongoing life in such families an intelligent airing that does service to families, both adoptive and not.

Interesting. I am not going to volunteer my family for the show (we are all doing well, here, thank you very much!) but I will be watching it, especially if, like they say, it is intelligent.

Here's more:

Using the expert techniques that have made ABC’s SUPERNANNY a hit show, (and her book a New York Times bestseller), Jo Frost works with families to help tame even the rowdiest infants, kids and teens, restoring balance to American households. Jo offers hands-on advice to parents on how to achieve the best possible work/family balance, get the best out of kids, (while still letting them be kids), and guide the family unit to a positive place. The series is an intelligent, informative look at childcare and parenting in the 21st century.

Interested families should email us at supernanny@ricochettelevision.com, or go to www.ABC.com keyword “supernanny,” or call 1-877-NANNY-TIME.

I would love to meet Jo Frost. She is the coolest, really. Maybe if someone in the central NC region volunteers themselves she and I could go out to coffee...oh, my fantasies are getting away with me.

Anyway, what do you think? Do you watch the show? What "challenges particular to adoptive families" do you think they should cover?

Seriously. I want a purple suit, too. :)

Hmm, I'll watch just because we watch anyway. (Also to feel better about ourselves as parents!) I think it would be INSANELY interesting (and PROACTIVE as opposed to negative) if they profiled an adoptive family who has just brought home a child from an international adoption and they need to break down the communication barriers.

OOH! Yes, they should do that.

Im tempted to sign up myself.... but who knows what she would think about time in's and Holding time.. since IA kids have different needs and our parenting approach is different. I could see myself crying already on national TV.... no thanks

That's precisely the reason why I don't want to be on the Amazing Race. I could totally see my husband and myself come across as the typical screeching, feuding couple!
