This weekend when I manned the
FRUA booth at the
SPAFA expo a lot of people asked me questions.
Did your adoption go smoothly?
How is your son doing now?
Is it possible to know if a child is "healthy"?
Do you know if his birth parents drank alcohol?
How was the adjustment?
How long did it take?
Did you like your agency?
How was the travel?
How was the food?
Why was he in the orphanage?
How long had he been there?
Did he have any delays?
Can you get a "normal" kid from Russia?
What was it like for your older son?
Do you love them both the same?
How was the adjustment for your family?
Now, normally some of these questions would have been a little offensive. Some of them are awfully personal - not that I haven't blabbed about ALL of them on this blog - and typically a person would wait a while after knowing me to ask me stuff like this. But this was the point of the expo, right? And I told people they could ask me whatever they liked.

I tried to be honest. I hope I didn't dissuade anyone. I want people to go into adopting from Russia with their eyes open.
At the same time, I really want people to adopt from Russia!
