The Riviera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas is now offering a different kind of Russian entertainment. “ICE: Direct From Russia” is a circus on skates. The show runs Saturday to Thursday at 8 p.m. and tickets are $68.15 for general admission or $77.25 for VIP seats. You can reach the casino’s box office at (702) 794-9433.

Trinity Rep in Providence, R.I. will stage its final performance of “Memory House” on January 6. The play, written by Kathleen Tolan, is about a divorced mother and her 18-year-old daughter, reflecting on her adoption from Russia as she prepares college applications.

The St. Petersburg Ballet will be performing in Michigan. It will be at the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts in Detroit on January 10 and 11 at 8 p.m. and at The Whiting in Flint on January 12. Tickets range from $27 to $47 in Detroit, where the program includes “Carmen” and something called “Ballet Spectacular”. “Romeo and Juliet” will be performed at The Whiting, and tickets there are $15 to $30.

On Saturday, January 19 a 8 p.m. the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra will perform a program entitled “Russia Revealed” at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, Calif. It includes Prokofiev’s “Violin Concerto No. 2 in G minor” and Shostakovich’s fourth quartet, arranged by b Rudolf Barshai as the “Chamber Symphony, Op. 83A”. Tickets range from $17 to $79, which includes a one-hour pre-concert program on the stories behind the music.

If you are in or near St. Paul, Minn., you can travel to Russia on January 20 without ever leaving the city. The Landmark Center is holding a cultural event that afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. featuring Russian music, food, crafts, stories and products. Also on January 20, the Marin Symphony presents Tchaikovsky’s “Violin Concerto” and Stravinsky’s “Divertimento” from The Fairy’s Kiss and “Symphony in Three Movements”, performed by the Russian-born Israeli violinist Vadim Gluzman. The performance will be repeated on Tuesday, January 22, and both shows are at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $27 to $65.
