Some of our bloggers have been writing about things they're thankful for throughout the month. I would like to jump on that bandwagon today, the day that is most thanks-focused for the year. I would like to publicly count my blessings.
I am thankful for my family. My husband and my two boys are the reason I exist. I really have a great husband in so many ways! I soooo lucked out there. He wasn't my type, but we got together anyway. Oh, I'm thankful. And my boys -- I can't even really write about it, I'm so thankful I have them.
My mom and my step-dad live nearby and they help us in so many ways. I am thankful for them. I'm also thankful for my sisters and their husbands, who don't live nearby but whom I'm lucky enough to have a good relationship with. I am thankful for my neice, Amelia, and her very, very-soon-to-be little sister! I am thankful that my sisters, although they live very far away right now, would like to come live near me some day. Just the thought of that possibility makes me really happy.

I am thankful for my friends. I feel so lucky to have a close circle of friends. In my adult life I hadn't that until about 7 years ago, when I was so fortunate to find a playgroup for my baby. Out of that playgroup came a great group of women who opened their families to mine. I feel like they're part of my family, too.
I am thankful for my health. I am nearing an age when things start to happen to people - things like disease and sickness and serious illness. I need to not take a healthy body for granted. I don't. In my younger years things like eating right and exercising used to be all about how I looked - now it's about how I feel and how to keep my body going. I'm thankful for the knowledge of how to take care of myself.
I am thankful for my home. Every night I go to bed warm and with food in my belly. That's so much better than most of the world. I am a very fortunate person.
There's so much more to be thankful for, really. Things like clean air, and art, and the view of the leafless trees out my window...but I'll keep those things to myself - I have a turkey to cook!
