Home Kids by Nancy Canfield. This book's publicist was kind enough to send me a copy and I haven't gotten around to it yet! I'm feeling guilty! It seems like a very interesting read, especially for parents of children who've been in orphanages. It's about the St. Agatha Home for Children in New York State - its history, the author's personal story, as well as interviews with former residents. I can't wait to read it...after I slog through these first 5 books.

Stories of the Steppes: Kazakh Folktales, retold by Mary Lou Masey. I am reading this book in the hopes of finding a tale to retell for my 1st issue of
Kultura for Kids, the newsletter I'm creating for kids adopted from EE countries. My first issue is going to be about winter holidays, so I actually think I'll do The Christmas Spider (a Polish tale) but it never hurts to have one in the can...

Adoption Parenting, edited by Jean McLeod and Sheena Mcrae. HOLY CROW this is a big FAT book. Carrie Kitze, the publisher, sent me a copy a couple of months ago and I haven't gotten to it yet. Honestly, I'm a little intimidated b/c it seems SO FULL of amazing information. But I'll get to it, right? (
I think I can...I think I can...)

Two Little Girls, by Theresa Reid. Ummmmm....I am supposed to read this and review it for
Adoption Today, so it's actually my JOB to finish this...but I haven't even started yet. Naughty me. Hopefully by the end of the month.

The Out of Sync Child has Fun, by Carol Stock Kranowitz. This isn't actually a straight read through book after you get through the 1st couple of chapters. I've skipped around looking at various activities and it is really full of wonderful ideas for kids with SPD. This will deserve a post or 2 once I've read it all.
WOOPS! I found another. The library bought this for me (I'm special! No, really, I just asked...) It's
A Love Like No Other, edited by Jill Smolowe. It's essays by adoptive parents. I love this book so far, although I've only read the 1st section. It'll also deserve a post or 2 once I'm done...
Do you think I can do it?
