Hey ya'll - I'm writing an adoption ABC book. I'm not sure if I'll do anything with it when I'm done (publish it, find a publisher, etc.) but this fall I'm putting out my shingle to do some school workshops as a writer-in-residence and I need a week-long activity to do with the kids. Book-making is my forte (I mean the actual making of books, not placing bets..he he) and I was trying to think what would be a good topic for the books.
My books are about adoption, but I certainly don't think every kid I talk to will want to write about adoption, nor should they.
Anyhoo, it occurred to me that an ABC book would be a good week-long project for the kids to undertake. They all would be familiar with the format and as long as they picked a theme they could spend a couple of days writing and a couple of days illustrating. They could also do it in teams.

But if I am to have them do a project like that I need to have my own book to show them. Naturally, I thought of an adoption ABCs.
But I'm having trouble! I need suggestions for some of the letters. I'm probably being really dense by not thinking of adoption or family related words for these letters, so I'm asking the world. Can anyone help? The book is for adoption
in general, not just Russian adoption, which opens it up a bit.
Here are my problematic letters:
E
P
Q
U
W
X
Y
and Z!
