Sigh.
Family Day is over, and only one drink was spilled inside my house - and that was by my older son, who in his excitement at being able to drink a soft drink forgot our rules about food and drinks in places other than the kitchen. Of course chocolate cake is now ground into the rug under my kitchen table, but what were we thinking, putting a rug under the kitchen table?
At last count there were 47 children here last night. I'm thinking probably 50 or so parents went with those kids, too. It was a very fun party but it went by so quickly! Funny how at parties at your house you never really get to talk to anyone. I need someone else to have a party so I can hang out with my friends!
It was great. The weather was perfect, the food was wonderful, and we rased $150 for Hope Family Commune, an orphanage and soup kitchen near St. Petersburg. People came to my house who'd never been there before, and I got to meet the husbands and wives of friends whose spouses I'd never met. That is always interesting! My husband got to show off our house and talk a lot about all the work he's put into it, and people raved about my garden.

My only regret (besides not talking to people more) is that we didn't take a picture. Next year...
